The Kammac Onboarding Process

The logistics sector is extensive, with a demand for logistics experts spanning various industries. We thought we’d share a little bit about Kammac’s onboarding approach and the career opportunities available as a logistics professional.

To gain insights into this topic, we’ve asked Natalia Fowler, Kammac’s People Business Partner specialising in Talent Acquisition, to write a helpful article.

Can you talk us through Kammac’s onboarding process?

We know starting a new job is a big change, so we want to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible. After accepting the Offer of Employment following a successful interview, new employees receive login details to our onboarding platform. Here, they complete any necessary New Starter Forms and access essential information about the company and their new workplace, including our mission, vision, values, location, benefits, etc.

Before Their First Day:

We reach out to new employees a few days before their start date to address any questions they may have. We ensure that their work station, desk, computer, and everything else they might need are fully prepared for their arrival on their first day.

Day One:

Our goal is to make our new employees feel at home from day one. They will meet their team, complete company inductions, and gain a deeper understanding of Kammac.

First Week:

We provide training on specific tasks, software, tools, and processes. We pair them with someone who can guide them and answer any questions they may have. As part of their onboarding experience, we customise a schedule for the first few weeks to align with their role within the company, which includes meetings with key team members and access to relevant information.

First 3 Months:

We check in regularly to ensure they are settling in comfortably and making progress in their role. We talk about goals for the future and how they can grow with Kammac providing feedback and celebrating achievements!

Beyond the 3 Months:

We encourage everyone to learn and grow, whether it is attending workshops, online courses, or mentorship programs. We are always here to support them as they settle into their role.

How are Kammac engaging with the next generation of logistics professionals?

Firstly, at Kammac, we recognise the importance of nurturing talent from an early stage!

We are proud to be involved in various initiatives, such as apprenticeships and partnering with local educational institution. These programs provide students with hands-on experience, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to real-world logistics challenges.
