Road Safety Week stands as an important annual reminder for everyone to prioritise safety measures on the road. For 3PL’s and other haulage companies, considering the well-being of drivers and other road users is paramount.
This year, Brake – The Road Safety Charity, “Let’s talk about speed” is the theme of the UK’s biggest road safety campaign. Beginning yesterday (19th November), and continuing all through this week there are plenty of fundraising and awareness campaigns running throughout the entire UK.
All with the same mission to start a conversation around the dangers and impact of speeding on the roads, remember people affected by road death and injury, and raise funds to help Brake care for more road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone.
During this week, 3PLs often intensify driver training programs and awareness campaigns. These initiatives focus on safe driving practices, fatigue management, and dealing with adverse weather conditions, aiming to enhance the skills and awareness of drivers on the road.

Recently we’ve been seeing National Highway’s HGV campaign, raising awareness of HGV drivers limited visibility for other road users. The campaign is memorable, not only for all drivers to remember HGV’s blind spots, but also for HGV drivers to make sure their intention on the road are clear.
